This accomplishment reflects FOIZ Leadership dedication to environmental responsibility, continuous improvement, and sustainable business practices.
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The standard requires organizations to address various environmental issues relevant to their operations. These include but are not limited to air pollution, water and sewage concerns, waste management, soil contamination, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and resource use efficiency. By achieving this certification, FOIZ Environmental Management Systems assures both employees and stakeholders prioritize environmental responsibility in all activities conducted within the zone.
During the ceremony, H.E. Capt. Salem Abdullah Al-Afkham FOIZ Director expressed his satisfaction, and he said that this certification is another milestone toward achieving the vision and continued efforts of the UAE, Emirate of Fujairah, and FOIZ to create a more environmentally friendly business operation through developing a comprehensive understanding of the environmental impact of all activities in the area, and in collaboration with all stakeholders and surrounding communities. He also emphasized that achieving ISO 14001 certification is an important landmark on FOIZ journey to becoming a net zero zone.
